23rd July 2018: Yvonne Cleary presented ‘Component Content Management: A Survey of Practice and Implications for Academic Programs’ at the IEEE ProComm 2018 Conference in Toronto. Yvonne also presented 'TecCOMFrame: Developing Prototype Technical Communication Curricula' with her collaborator Joyce Karreman.
9th July 2018: Elaine Walsh, Lecturer in Technical Communication and Instructional Design, assumed the role of Acting Course Director for the Graduate Certificate in Technical Writing.
25th-27th April 2018: UL hosted the European Academic Colloquium on Technical Communication Studies, which included presentations by researchers in industry and academia, as well as UL PhD students in Technical Communication and Instructional Design.

September 2017: The MA in Technical Communication and E-Learning recruited 33 new students, along with 10 part-time year 2 students starting this September. These students were on-campus for orientation in August. Many of them will study online for the remainder of the programme.
September 2017: TCID is running a new research methods module on the MA this semester, RM6031: Research Methods in Technical Communication and E-Learning.
July 2017: Dr. Ann Marcus-Quinn presented with Dr. Triona Hourigan at the World Conference in Computers in Education (WCCE) held in Dublin.
July 2017: Dr. Yvonne Cleary and Dr. Darina Slattery were the proceedings co-chairs for the 2017 IEEE International Professional Communication Conference, which took place in Madison, Wisconsin in July. Yvonne and Darina also presented at the conference.

June 2017: Dr. Ann Marcus-Quinn hosted Dr. Jean-Louise Moys from the University of Reading to work on their typographic differentiation project.
