Progression

In order to progress in your chosen course, you must meet specific academic requirements in each semester, year or part of a course.
Please note: Some courses may have different minimum standards or may not award compensating fail grades. Please refer to your course booklet for these details.

The minimum standards of academic performance in each semester, year or part of a course are:

  • A QCA of at least 2.00
  • No deficient grades (E.g. F, N, NG, I)

Students who achieve the minimum performance standard at the end of each academic year can proceed to the next year of their course or to graduation.

If Minimum Standards Are Not Met:

If you do not achieve the minimum standards at the end of a semester, academic year or part of a course, you will be notified and informed that one of the following courses of action applies to you.

End of Autumn Semester:

  • Take annual repeats: Repeat a max of 2 modules (grades capped at C3)
  • Repeat a full semester
  • Repeat the year (without progression to Coop or Teaching Practice)
  • Have your enrolment terminated

End of Spring Semester:

  • Take annual repeats: Repeat a max of 2 modules (grades capped at C3)
  • Repeat a full semester
  • Repeat the year
  • Have your enrolment terminated

Following Annual Repeats:

  • Link-in by repeating deficient modules in the next academic year (max 2 per semester)
  • Repeat a full semester
  • Repeat the year
  • Have your enrolment terminated
