The U.L. Eist Student Counselling and Wellbeing Service believes in supporting the development and training of professionals in psychology, counselling and psychotherapy. Each academic year the service offers a limited number of trainee placements and internships. The number is dependent on the capacity of the service to provide such places during any given year.

The recruitment of trainees and interns commences each year in April. Prospective applicants who meet the above criteria should forward their CV and cover email to counselling@ul.ie in April. Applications that do not meet the above criteria will not be considered. C.Vs received after the last day of April will not be considered. Interviews are held in May/June with successful candidates commencing placement/internship hours in the next academic year i.e. August/September
Applications should not be forwarded to individual staff members due to the high volume received each year.
Interns may be retained for a second academic year if suitable and if this is within the capacity of the service to provide.
