On April 11th, a How I Write, Ireland interview conducted with Liz Nugent brought this year's UL One Campus, One Book initiative to a close. Liz made a wonderful contribution to both events, generously sharing both her time and writing expertise with attendees.

For the first event of this year's initiative, Liz read a short passage from Lying in Wait and engaged in a discussion about the book with the audience. This initial event took place on February 28th. The discussion and Q&A session was led by Dr. Sheila Killian of the Kemmy Business School. The event boasted an impressive attendance, despite the harsh weather conditions and heavy snow. Liz welcomed questions about the novel itself and her experiences during the writing process. Liz also signed copies of her book for attendees at the close of the event.

As a follow-up event, Regional Writing Centre co-director, Lawrence Cleary, engaged Liz in a public interview about her writing process and strategies. This discussion took the form of a How I Write, Ireland interview. Time was reserved for audience members to ask questions as a way of informing their own processes, practices, and strategies. All audio, video, and transcribed resources from this interview will be made available on the Regional Writing Centre’s website in due course. This event was attended by other critically acclaimed authors such as Donal Ryan and Sarah Moore Fitzgerald. A book signing took place between Liz Nugent and Donal Ryan in Talking Leaves bookshop following the interview.
