After months of writing, receiving of entries, and an intensive judging process, the time has come to announce the winning shortlist of the National Secondary School Essay Writing Competition 2018. This year’s competition saw a very high standard of entries from across the country, and each student should be very proud of their efforts.

On May 17th, these shortlisted entrants will be welcomed by UL President, Professor Desmond Fitzgerald, and our overall winner will be announced alongside our two runners-up. The overall winner will be awarded an Android tablet, with each runner-up receiving a One-For-All voucher valued at €100.
The Regional Writing Centre would like to congratulate these students once more, alongside all the other entrants who took part in this year's competition. We greatly appreciate the efforts given by both the students and their schools.
