MSSI Building Project estimated to create 80 construction jobs in Limerick.
Contracts have been signed for the construction of an €8.5m research building expansion on the University of Limerick campus.
The 2,750m2 development will extend the existing Materials and Surface Sciences Institute (MSSI). The overall investment is in excess of €12m with the majority of funding provided by the fifth strand of the Programme for Research in Third Level Institutions PRTLI (V). The development will provide 13 specialist laboratories, offices and other spaces for 60 research staff.
The construction contract has been awarded to O’Hare & McGovern (Ireland) Ltd. Design Team for the development includes Scott Tallon Walker, Architects, Punch Consulting Engineers, O’Reilly Hyland Tierney Associates, Quantity Surveyors, Delap & Waller, Mechanical & Electrical and Kerin Contract Management, Project Managers.
The scheduled completion date of the buidling extension is January 2015.
