The University of Limerick SIAM student chapter will be hosting its second Student Chapter Conference on Friday 18th January 2019. This will be the fifth Irish SIAM Student Chapter Conference, with the previous event hosted by the NUI Galway chapter in 2017.
This conference provides an opportunity for postgraduate and postdoctoral researchers, from both Ireland and the UK, in the area of applied or industrial mathematics to share their work in a one day conference environment. The conference aims to build relationships and encourage collaboration between early career researchers from both Irish and UK institutions.
The plenary speakers for the event will be:
The event is generously supported by SIAM, and is organised in conjunction with MACSI (Mathematics Applications Consortium for Science and Industry) based in the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at UL.
The registration form for the conference can be found here. Participants are welcome to submit a short (200 word) abstract for a 15 minute presentation, followed by 5 minutes for Q&A, to firstname.lastname@example.org. Abstract submission will close Tuesday 18th December 2018, however registration for attendance will remain open until Friday 4th January 2019. There will be a limited amount of spaces for contributed talks.
