The best answer to this question is to come and see for yourself! An introductory tour of the facilities would give you a good idea of the kinds of language learning activities you can take part in.

As a guide, here are a few ideas:

  • Meet a language exchange partner
  • Watch a foreign film
  • Use a book and audiocassette to practise your listening and speaking skills
  • Practise grammar using CALL Lab software
  • Research an essay topic using the Internet
  • Borrow a dictionary to help with your homework or translations

Please feel free to come along and ask for an introductory tour, even if you have been on campus for a while!

  • Students must leave their ID cards in the Main Office while they use an item of material in the Self-Access Centre or CALL lab.
  • Students must never remove material from the LRA.
  • Teachers must inform a member of the LRA staff of the material they borrow.
  • The LRA facilities are for language learning only. Students found engaging in activities outside of language ones will be asked to leave.
  • Eating, drinking, smoking and excessive noise are forbidden.
