Dr Eimear Spain and Professor Shane Kilcommins met Josephine Feehily, the new chairperson of the Policing Authority, at the University of Limerick on the 18th November. The Policing Authority is being established as an independent body to oversee the performance of An Garda Síochána in relation to policing services in Ireland. In doing so, it will promote public trust and confidence in policing and help shape policing services to meet the challenges of a modern Ireland.
