The School of Law was delighted to host author and lawyer Sheila Agnew on Thursday 14th April. Sheila, who is currently based in New York, gave a highly engaging presentation to 3rd and 4th year law students entitled: ‘Lessons in Career Building’ drawing on her own very varied and international career to date. Between 1994 and 2011, she practiced law with six different law firms in four different countries, including Arthur Cox in Dublin, Slaughter and May in London and Freehills in Sydney. By 2011, she was a litigation partner with a prestigious firm based in the Chrysler Building in New York. More recently, Sheila has authored a number of critically-acclaimed novels including her newly released thriller, The Exclusion Wars – described by Eoin Colfer as ‘a book that needed to be written and needs to be read’.
