On Friday April 6th, Professor Antony Pemberton, Tilburg University, The Netherlands, met with one of the Law Plus Advanced Lawyering Project Groups. The group are working on a project with OneinFour and their project considers how the trial process can be improved in sexual offence cases to minimise the trauma experienced by victims. Professor Pemberton discussed innovations from The Netherlands which could be introduced in Ireland to improve victims' experiences. Maeve Lewis, CEO, OneinFour also attended this discussion. The students working on the project are: Sinead Mulcahy, Daniel O'Connell, Niamh Shanahan, Molly Fitzgibbon, Mihkaela O'Shaughnessy and Eireann Moloney. They will present their final report to OneinFour at the end of semester. The project is supervised by Dr Susan Leahy and Dr Margaret Fitzgerald-O'Reilly. Professor Pemberton's Visit was funded by a grant from the Faculty of Arts Humanities & Social Sciences Teaching Board Fund.
