The Polish Disability Forum has launched an ambitious project concerning implementation of the UN Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities (CPRD) in Poland. This project is financed by the European Union (ESF). A very important component of the endeavour is a series of thematic advisory and programming debates. The debates will facilitate in-depth consultations with experts, public administration staff, academics, representatives of schools and the health care system and other practitioners with a wealth of knowledge and experience pertaining to particular debate themes. These professionals will be the project’s programming advisers for particular themes/topics. The subject scope of the debates will be defined by the CRPD’s articles. As part of that project, the Forum has invited Professor Shane Kilcommins to address it on the issues that relate to the implementation of Article 16 on freedom from exploitation, violence and abuse. The debate will take place on 22th July in Warsaw.
