Anouck Chadaigne, University of Toulouse, France – Erasmus Student (2013/14)

My name is Anouck Chadaigne. I am a postgraduate law student in France. I’ve studied last year at the University of Limerick and it was better than all my expectations!

If you want to study in a pleasant atmosphere, you have to choose the University of Limerick! The campus is very nice, the teachers are extremely approachable, and the International Division staff is very accessible. The campus has a stunning sports arena which offers numerous sports, a modern and luminous library, and plenty of student friendly restaurants. Several societies will help you to make the best of your experience at the UL: trips, sports, studies, parties etc.

Studying at the University of Limerick was an extremely good opportunity for me. I discovered a rich culture, a legal system of the Common law, and I almost perfected my English.

I had the chance to meet many wonderful people from all around the world! Additionally, it was easy to travel in Ireland from UL by using the bus services. Lovely cities are closed to Limerick such as Galway, Cork, Waterford, Killarney, and you will be in Dublin in less than 3hours by bus. There are also nearby sightseeing places: Cliffs of Moher, Ring of Kerry, the Aran Islands and Connemara. Thus you could visit Ireland effortlessly and for a low price. Thanks to the Shannon airport you could also travel to other European destinations in a snap! Moreover, do not leave Ireland without having cheered for Munster (the provincial rugby team)!

To conclude, the kindness and the generosity of the Irish people are not a myth! You will discover a country full of amazing landscapes and welcoming people. I left Ireland with a lot of memories and I definitely want to go back there soon.  After this rewarding experience, I have the feeling of being a little bit Irish now!
