Dr. Sean Redmond was an invited speaker at a seminar organised by the Centre for Information & Research on Organised Crime in the University of Utrecht on the 24th of May.
Much of the focus on organised crime tends to centre on international activities with less attention given to the local embeddedness of criminal networks. This seminar focuses on various aspects of locally embedded organised crime to highlight insights that such local dimensions offers for tracing and approach.
CIROC was founded in 2001 by the departments of criminology at the Erasmus University Rotterdam (EUR), VU University Amsterdam (VU), Maastricht University (UM), Utrecht University (UU), and the WODC, the Research and Documentation Centre of the Dutch Ministry of Security and Justice. The Centre focuses on transferring knowledge about organised crime from theory to practice.
