The LLM in International Commercial Law students had a superb guest lecture on Thursday about Compliance and Regulation. The lecture was given by Ms. Joanne O’Donnell, Solicitor and senior regulatory advisor from Compliance and Risks, an Irish company based in Cork. Ms. O’Donnell described the extent and areas of regulation in existence globally to the students and how it affects various sectors and jurisdictions. There was also a discussion on Corporate Social Responsibility issues for business and the increasingly mandatory and Governmental character of those issues. The School of Law extends its thanks to Ms. O’Donnell for an interesting and discursive lecture, which the students found very helpful.
