Students from across the country were presented with scholarships totalling nearly €280,000 at the 2017 University of Limerick Scholarship Awards ceremony held on Monday, November 27. This year, more than 110 scholarships were presented, including over 30 UL Sports Scholarships.
Forty students were awarded UL40 Scholarships, introduced in 2012 to mark UL’s 40th anniversary and valued at €2,000 each. The scholarships are awarded to incoming students based on their performance in the Leaving Certificate determined by their CAO points. Law students who were awarded these scholarships included Evan Ashton (Law Plus), Patrick Brennan (Law Plus), Aine Cooke (Law Plus), Erica McMorrow (Law Plus), Katelin King (Law and Accounting) and Marissa Molyneaux (Law and Accounting)
Thirty-three outstanding sportspeople received UL Sports scholarships in 2017, including Alan Murphy (Law and Accounting) who received one for soccer.
