Law for a Day 2017

On Thursday March 30th, the School of Law hosted our Law for a Day Initiative. In excess of twenty students came from a wide range of schools in the Mid-West region and beyond. They had a packed day, where their activities included:

An introductory talk by Dr. Laura Cahillane

A lecture in Criminal Law delivered by Dr Andrea Ryan

A lecture in Sport and the Law by resident expert Laura Donnellan

Talks from student ambassadors about the UL Law Society and co-operative education.

Students also participated in a moot which was hosted by Dr John Lombard and Dr Lydia Bracken.

The day ended with a tour of the UL campus.

We hope that the students enjoyed their day. The School of Law would especially like to extend its thanks to our student volunteers, Malgorzata, Sophie, Dara, Katie, Ellen, Abraham, Claire, Nafissa and everyone else who helped out during the day.

Thanks also to all the lecturers who facilitated the students in allowing them to attend their lectures.

We hope to run Law for a Day again in 2018 - please keep an eye on our website for further details.
