Law for a Day 2016

31.03.2016
Law for a Day

On Thursday March 31st, the School of Law hosted our Law for a Day Initiative for a second year running. In excess of thirty students came from a wide range of schools in the Mid-West region and beyond. They had a packed day, where their activities included:

  • An introductory talk by Professor Shane Kilcommins and Dr. Susan Leahy
  • Participating in a Moot - hosted by Dr. John Lombard (School of Law)
  • Lectures in Sport and the Law (Sarah Crowley) and Contract Law (Norah Burns)
  • Meeting with students from the UL Law Society who took them to lunch
  • A tour of Campus
  • A lecture in Medical Law

We hope that the students enjoyed their day. The School of Law would especially like to extend its thanks to our student volunteers, Niamh, Katie, Criostoir, Clodagh, Thomas, Eoin and Dara and whoever else has helped us along the way. We couldn't have done it without you and you gave the students a fantastic perspective on what it is like to study Law.

Thanks also to all the lecturers who facilitated the students in allowing them to attend their classes.

We hope to run Law for a Day again in 2017 - please keep an eye on our website for further details.
