On Monday the 28th of August three members of the School of Law faculty presented at the AHSS Faculty Teaching Day. The theme of the day was ‘UL: Beyond the Campus’. Head of School Professor Kilcommins along with Adrienne Horan presented ‘Engaging in Online Learning in Law’. The presentation focused on Professor Kilcommins online Evidence module and also the new BA in Applied Policing and the positives and outcomes from blended learning. Dr Susan Leahy presented on ‘Bringing the “Real World” into the classroom: The BA Criminal Justice Career Seminar Series’. Dr Leahy outlined a seminar series she held for Criminal Justice students on career opportunities. She also spoke about the importance of ensuring students are engaged and understand the dynamics of their degree. Norah Burns presented on ‘Child Law: A Case study on Reflective Learning’. The presentation focused on the incorporation of guest speakers from the NGO and academic sectors into an undergraduate child law module along with reflective learning and assessment practices. The day was organised by Assistant Dean for Academic Affairs Dr Michael Griffin and Jess Beeley.
