Dr John Lombard spoke this morning on Limerick’s Live 95 Limerick Today show on the topic of copyright protection and the streaming of online content. Dr Lombard highlighted the ambiguous position which currently exists in this area as well as the responsibilities which are placed on internet service providers in the jurisdiction. In addition to this, Dr Lombard spoke about the recent High Court decision blocking access to several streaming sites as well as a decision from the High Court of England and Wales which adopted a novel approach to preventing the streaming of live premier league football.
