Dr. John Lombard presented a paper at the 30th European Conference on Philosophy of Medicine and Health Care on Friday, 19th August 2016. The conference was hosted by the University of Zagreb, Croatia. The title of the conference was 'Ethics and Social Determinants of Health'. John spoke on the topic of 'The Recognition of a Right to Palliative Sedation'. This paper considered the influence of the human rights framework on the principles and practice of palliative medicine.
Attendance at this conference was supported by a bursary from the AHSS Faculty Research Committee.
