12th Annual Graduate Law Conference and the Dean Maxwell and Isle Cohen Seminar on International Law
On the 8th and 9th of May 2019 Lucy M. Davis, a second year PhD student and Irish Research Council Scholar in the School of Law, attended the 12th Annual Graduate Law Conference and the Dean Maxwell and Isle Cohen Seminar on International Law in the McGill Faculty of Law, McGill University, Montréal, Canada. The goal of this annual conference is to provide a ‘forum for graduate students, scholars and members of the legal profession, government and industry to exchange ideas and share approaches that bridge the gap between law and other disciplines’. The theme of the 2019 conference was ‘Law: Reactive or Proactive?’.
With the guidance of her supervisors, Dr John Lombard and Dr Lydia Bracken, and with kind support of the Irish Research Council, Lucy presented a paper on her doctoral research entitled, ‘Shining a spotlight on Do Not Attempt Resuscitation (DNAR) orders in Ireland: The need for a proactive response to resuscitation decision-making in Ireland’.
