All current/registered University of Limerick students need a computer account and password to access IT services provided by UL.
All first year students will receive details about their computer accounts (username & password) via email prior to your enrolment at UL. The user ID is your student ID number (e.g. 1723456).
Your computer account gives you access to Library Resources, Sulis (ULs Learning Management System), Email and Student Administration portal for the duration of your academic career at UL. If you leave the University and return on a later date, your student ID account will remain the same. Please see email section on policies regarding access and conditions for graduated students
All new students will receive an email from UL with their initial password.
You MUST change your computer account password after first logging in with the default password issued at enrolment or by ITSS.
You can change your initial password @ https://www.ul.ie/studentpassword .
If you know your existing password, go to https://www.ul.ie/studentpassword
You have two options available.
1. If you have registered for the Self-Service Password Reset, go to https://passwordreset.ul.ie
2. Complete an online form, and your password will be reset and issued to you within 24 hours (Monday to Friday). Please only submit this form once.
Your student ID number is your User ID / Username (e.g. 1723456).
Please note ,you access your Email Account, Microsoft 365 Apps and WiFi (eduroam) with your username in the following format - <student ID number>@studentmail.ul.ie
You can register to use the SMS text facility to easily reset your password @ https://passwordregistration.ul.ie. See Password Registration document for more information
