Academic Career: MA, PhD (Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam); Researcher with lecturing duties, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam; Assistant Manager Faculty of Arts, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam; Researcher in a teaching innovation project on lexical skills in modern language teaching, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam.

Research Interests: Contemporary German and Austrian Literature; Literature and Cultural/National Identity; 20th century Irish-German, Irish-Austrian and Irish-Swiss relations in literature; Crime and Detective Fiction; Literary Theory (esp. Intertextuality, Postmodernism); The Work of Richard Wagner and its Reception; German Romanticism.

Teaching Interests: 19th - 21th century German literature; Comparative Literature, Cultural Studies; German as a Foreign Language.
