Inside the Emotionally Intelligent Brain

The Research Cluster in Emotions hosted a seminar by Professor Billy O'Connor entitled "Inside the Emotionally Intelligent Brain" on Wednesday, 7th December. Professor O'Connor, Foundation Professor and Chair of Physiology at the University of Limerick Medical School, reported on the latest neuroscience findings on how the emotional brain works and how looking at the way the brain is wired helps to remove the mystery of our feelings, particularly the compulsive ones. The seminar also pointed to the extraordinary malleable circuitry of the brain and its ability to shape the experience of our emotions.
