EATAW 2011 Travel Information

By Air
There are regular flights from Europe and the USA into Shannon Airport which is located 24Km north of the University of Limerick. There are direct scheduled air services from Dublin, the UK, continental Europe and North America. Buses and taxis link the airport to Limerick city centre and the University. Taxis from Shannon Airport to the University cost around €45*. Car Hire services are also available from the airport.

Airlines flying to Shannon include Delta Airlines, American Airlines, Aer Lingus, Ryanair, and Continental.

For delegates flying to Dublin airport, JJ Kavanagh & Sons provide coach services that link Dublin airport and Shannon airport regularly each day. These coaches depart from Dublin airport and stop on the University of Limerick campus. For further details, please see http://www.jjkavanagh.ie/.

By Rail
There are regular rail services connecting Limerick with Dublin, Cork, Tralee, Killarney, and (via Dublin) with Belfast, Sligo and Westport. For tickets and schedules, please check the Irish Rail website.

By Bus
Intercity buses arrive at Limerick Bus Station, which is beside the railway station. For tickets and schedules, please check the Bus Eireann website.

There is a regular bus service between the campus and the city centre. A bus ticket costs €1.65. At the bus stop near the Centra shop in William St. take the no. 308 bus for the University. Also JJ Kavanagh & Sons provide coach services:

By Car or Taxi From Limerick City
Take the Dublin Road out of the city and travel approximately 2 km to the Parkway roundabout. Go straight through this roundabout. At the next roundabout, turn left and follow the signs for the University. Taxis are available from the Train Station and City Centre to the University and cost on average €10.

By Car From Dublin
After the village of Annacotty, turn right at the first roundabout you meet as you approach Limerick (Sign for the National Technological Park). Follow the road through the Technological Park until you see the sign for the University entrance on your right.
