EATAW Elections 2011

View the candidates for the EATAW Board 2011-2013

As always, at this year's EATAW conference a new board will be elected to lead the organisation for the next two years. The election will take place on Thursday, June 30, 2011. All those present at the conference who have been members of EATAW for one year are entitled to vote. Membership will be determined on the basis of the membership list. Those who attended the 2009 conference in Coventry who have not formally renewed their membership will be considered to be continuing members without interruption of membership.

For the 2011 EATAW elections, the following arrangements will apply:

  1. Due to complications of postal/email voting, only those present at the conference are allowed to vote.
  2. The candidates will briefly introduce themselves at the EATAW Pre-Election Forum, which will take place on Wednesday, June 29, 5.40pm-6.10pm, in the Jean Monet Lecture Theatre, DG016.
  3. At the EATAW General Assembly on Thursday, June 30, 2011, 10.00am-11.00am, conference participants who are eligible to vote will receive a ballot paper with the names of the candidates in alphabetical order.  The statements of the candidates will also be included.
  4. A ballot box will stand on the Registration/Help Desk in the Main Building on Thursday, June 30, 2011, from 11am-2pm.
  5. The ballot papers must be completed and posted into the ballot box by 2pm on Thursday, June 30, 2011.  Late votes will not be counted.
  6. The electoral committee will count the votes and will announce the new Board (2011-2013) on Friday, July 1, 2011, between 9.15am-9.45am, in the Jean Monnet Lecture Theatre, DG016. The counting procedure will be observed by an independent person.

Members of EATAW present at the conference who have been associated with the organisation for at least two years, and have presented at at least one previous conference, may stand for election to the Board. If you wish to stand for election, please submit an application stating your interest and experience in the teaching of academic writing, your association with EATAW and your reasons for standing (maximum 200 words) by midnight (GMT), Wednesday 1st June 2011, at the latest.
