Dr Ronan Courtney is a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Biology in the Department of Biological Sciences, School of Science and a member of the Bernal Institute.
His research interests include ecological applications for the restoration of industrial and degraded land, passive treatment of wastewaters, resource recovery and reuse.
He is PI/Co-I on several projects both nationally and internationally with projects funded by Science Foundation Ireland (SFI), Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) as well as other agencies and with industrial partners.
Ronan is co-ordinator for the modules BY4014 – Ecology, BY4505 – Pollution Biology, BY4015 – Plant Physiology as well as contributing to BY4001 Biology. He also supervises final year projects across School of Science programmes.
