You are invited to a reading of poetry by Russia's four greatest twentieth-century poets (Anna Akhmatova, Osip Mandelstam, Boris Pasternak, and Marina Tsvetaeva), in Russian and English translation. These are of course poets' poets, influential on any number of major writers in English and other languages.
Please join our Writer in Residence Mary O'Malley, Jo Slade, Michael Kelly, Alla Kononova and myself for a rare opportunity to hear and appreciate these contributions to our sense of what it is to be alive, often in very difficult circumstances, in one of the world's beautiful and powerful languages.
Date & Venue: Tuesday 15th March, at 13.00, in the Shannon Room, Plassey House.
