Congratulations to Sorcha de Brún, from Léann na Gaeilge in the School of Irish, English and Communications, whose film idea was one of the selected entries for the Físín award in the Dingle International Film Festival 2019. Físín is a competition for Irish language Short Film makers, and takes place on an annual basis as part of the main Festival, which attracts international names to the town of Dingle in West Kerry. The Irish language Short Film genre has enjoyed rude health since the establishment of TG4 in 1996, and Físín is one of a number of schemes that promotes this. Sorcha teaches Irish Language Film to undergraduate students of Irish. Her film idea is in the documentary film genre and is about choral music.
