The CALS Annual Research Prize is open to all undergraduate students working on final year projects with thematic relevance to the research of the Centre. Students submit an abstract of their Final Year Project and identify its relevance to one of more CALS’s thematic areas: 1. New Technologies for Language Learning; 2. Discourse, Society and Identity; or 3. Plurilingualism and Language Policy. On the basis of the abstracts submitted, students will then be invited to prepare a poster for the CALS Annual Research Poster Display, and they will also be given a workshop on designing and preparing a poster. The Poster Display will take place in association with an international CALS guest lecture in the spring semester. First, second and third prizes will be awarded for the posters. Once students have submitted their final year projects, these will be judged and the overall winner selected. The prize will be presented on the day of the Graduation Ceremony in August. Submit a 300 word abstract of final year project by email to Mairead.Moriarty@ul.ie (copying in your supervisor) by 5 February 2016. The abstract should be submitted using the application form.
