Cur i Láthair ó mhic léinn SAUL ar a gcuid tograí ailtireachta / SAUL  students (School of Architecture, UL) present a showcase of their projects through Irish

Mar chuid den seisiún seo, spreagfar an dioscúrsa i dtaca le cúrsaí ailtireachta trí mheán na Gaeilge. Ina theannta sin, leagfar tábhacht nach beag ar na féidearthachtaí ag an nGaeilge le tograí agus le dearaí nuálacha a spreagadh in earnáil na hailtireachta.

The aim of the session is to provide the opportunity to speak about architecture through the Irish language, and to allow the chance for the Irish language to generate new thoughts about design and architecture. In Irish, we have very precise descriptions and vocabulary available for matters of the ground, working and inhabiting the ground, the ecological environment, climate, the small changes in the weather and its patterns, the seasons and the passage of time. In Irish, we have a particular tradition of storytelling and narrative. There is a distinct character to the Irish language, its turns of phrases, and the construction of sentences. In the context of all of this, how can the approach and make-up of Irish, the language of this country, influence design and architecture in this country?

Ionad/Venue: CG-042, Príomhstiúideo SAUL, Príomháras na hOllscoile /  CG-042, SAUL Main studio, Main Building. Beidh tae & caife ar fáil  / tea & coffee will be available.
