Online Enrolment


When can i enrol online?

You will be notified by email at the email address you provided when you applied through the Central Applications Office (CAO). Normally you will be issued an email within two working days after the day on which you accept your CAO offer.

What do I have to do to enrol online?

You will receive an email notifying you as to when you can enrol online. The email will outline the different steps in the process. This involves the following
1.Setting up your Student Computer and Email Account
2.Logging into your Student Portal
3.Completing the Online Finance Task
4.Enrolling Online for your Programme

Please note you cannot enrol online until you receive the e-mail with instructions.

How do I set up my Computer and Email account? What if I forget my password?

To activate your UL Student Computer Account and Microsoft Office 365 Student Email Account do the following:
Change your initial password as follows:
•Your Account User Name is your Student ID number which is on all correspondence you received from the University of Limerick
•Your Initial Password is your Date of Birth in the following format ddmmmyyyy(no spaces) e.g. 21Feb1997
•Go to and follow the instructions for setting your new password.
Self-Service Password Reset
1.Register NOW at the web site.
2.Log on with your Student ID Number with UL\ at the start e.g. UL\15123456, and enter your mobile phone number
3.If you forget your password later you can reset it by answering the same questions at the web site.
Please make a note of your new password. This password gives you access to your Student Computer, Student Email Account and Student Portal.

Accessing Your Email Account
•After 15 minutes you can access your Microsoft Office 365 Student Email Account.
•Go to
•Your Account User Name is: your Student ID Number followed by e.g.
•Your password is the one that you have created above.
If you are experiencing any problem with your account please email and include your Student ID, name, date of birth, home address, personal email and a contact telephone number

After I have enrolled online, have I completed the enrolment process?


 After you have enrolled online, there is a second part of the enrolment process that takes place during orientation week. This is part of your orientation schedule and involves
•Confirming that you have completed the online enrolment and online finance task
•Verifying you legal name (you must bring an original birth certificate or passport or evidence of a legal change in name (e.g. marriage certificate, deed poll)
•Collection of your Student ID card

Once I enrol on my programme am I registered?


You enrol on your programme and you register your modules. Registration is a completely seperate process. You must register for your modules by the end of week 1. You can do this online at All students must register for their modules regardless of whether their programme has optional/elective modules.

You must enrol on your programme before you can register for your modules.
