PhD Writers’ Week January 2022
This year’s PhD Writers’ Week took place from the 10th-14th of January 2022. The Regional Writing Centre, UL, met online with twelve PhD students over the week:
3rd Year PhD student Bernard Haritgan, School of Design.
4th Year PhD student Elaine Kavanagh, Psychology.
6th Year PhD student Emmeline Searson-Power, Psychology.
Final Year PhD student Maeve O’Connell, KBS.
2nd Year PhD student Marwa Safia Houilia, AHSS.
4th Year PhD student Molly May Haskins, Chemical Sciences.
3rd Year PhD student Morgan Senter, Irish World Academy of Music and Dance.
6th Year PhD student Terence Ryan, School of Engineering.
3rd Year PhD student Toni Rossiter, PESS.
Final Year PhD student David Taylor, Electronic and Computer Engineering.
5th Year PhD student Caroline Roe, sPhD
The students met each morning from 9am to 1 pm online. Their sessions included writing, discussing what they can do better and receiving advice on their way of writing. During the week, the students each met with a peer tutor one on one to discuss their personal strategies of writing and receive advice specific to their work. The students made great improvement in how they balance their schedules while still completing a PhD. This group has also seen the resumption of a PhD Writers’ Group. They are all determined to meet up weekly both online and in person to continue with their writing journeys. All of us here at The Regional Writing Centre, UL, wish them the very best with the completion of their work!
