Biography
Dr Una Woods graduated with a BCL from University College Cork in1995. She was awarded an LLM in Human Rights and Discrimination Law by QueensUniversity Belfast in 1996. She qualified as a solicitor in 1999 and wasawarded the Findlater Scholarship by the Law Society of Ireland. She joinedthe School of Law, University of Limerick in September 1999. In November 2006she was appointed by the Minister for Justice as a member of the Property Registration Authority (which previously managed the Irish Land Registry and the Registry of Deeds) and, in November2010, she was re-appointed for another 4 year term. In 2014, she completedher doctorate with Queens University Belfast on 'The Irish Law on AdversePossession - The Case for a Qualified Veto System'. She has acted as aconsultant to the Irish Law Reform Commission on the law in relation tocohabitants and adverse possession. Her publications focus mainly on land lawand conveyancing law. She has acted as an external examiner for NUI, Galway, DCU, UCD and UCC.Research Interests:My research interests lie primarily in the area of land law, thelaw of trusts, conveyancing law, succession law and matrimonial property law.
