The University of Limerick is delighted to have signed an Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with Beijing University of Chemical Technology (BUCT).
Dr Mary Shire, Vice President of Research at UL completed the signing with BUCT’s Vice President, Professor Dongsheng Chen. The signing took place in the Irish Embassy in Beijing and was witnessed by the Minister for Education and Skills Jan O’Sullivan. Vice President Chen hosted a UL visit to BUCT where Dr Shire was introduced to research staff and their work at the Center of Advanced Elastomer Materials, State Key Laboratory of Organic-Inorganic Composites and the National Carbon Fibre Engineering Technology research Center. The MOU signed will focus on research collaboration around these areas along with the development of joint programmes as well as staff and student exchange.
Minister O’Sullivan and the UL delegation were in China for the annual Chinese Education Expo where Ireland was announced as the Country of Honour for 2016.
