The 16th annual Careers Fair at the University of Limerick took place on 8th October between 12 – 4pm and was organised by the Cooperative Education & Careers Division. Featuring over 140 exhibitors and a designated UL Postgraduate Study Zone made this year’s Careers Fair the largest to date.
A recent survey on the employment record of UL graduates, showed that despite the challenging environment, UL's graduate employment rate for 2014 primary degree-holders is now 22% higher than the HEA’s most recently-available national average figure which is 51% for 2013. The survey of UL’s 2014 graduates showed 92% are either employed or pursuing further study.
The annual Careers Fair is an ideal opportunity for students to find out who the key UL employers are, what types of jobs are available, and what kind of skills employers are looking for. Students across all sectors benefited from attending this year’s Careers Fair as almost all industries were represented: Accounting, Banking & Finance, Insurance, Law, Retail, IT, Biomedical, Pharmaceutical, Aeronautical, Consulting, Food Processing, Nursing, Education, Professional bodies, Volunteering organisations and more. Exhibitors included A&L Goodbody, Aldi Stores Ltd, Arthur Cox, Diageo Plc, Google, Enterprise Ireland, Deloitte, Dairygold, Microsoft, Intel, Cook Medical, KPMG and many more. Information was also available on opportunities throughout Ireland as well as the UK, USA, UAE, Korea, Japan and other locations.
