Any PCs/Laptop must be purchased through ULs preferred supplier which is currently DELL



To comply with UL’s procurement policy, staff should Only purchase UL-funded equipment (Desktops, Laptops) from the UL-contracted supplier (DELL). Details can be found on Procurement Website www.ul.ie/finance/contracts

DELL has been selected based on their ability to provide tailored solutions complete with pre-installed images which contain all standard ITD Supported Software, encryption and Security updates which have  been validated to meet the various needs of UL Staff and Students while providing value for money and facilitating ITD support efficiencies.

Connecting your PC\Laptop

If your department has assigned you a new PC or Laptop you will need to log a call with ITD to complete the configuration of this laptop. Please do not turn the equipment on as the computer needs to be connected to the network to complete the setup.   Log A Call.

Connecting to a printer - Staff Printing

Equipment Disposal Guidelines

  1. Staff are required to remove asset from the UL Fixed Asset Register.
  1. Staff are required to log an ITD service request to remove the hard disk from computer.
  • Log here - ITD Service Request.
  • ITD Support staff will physically remove hard disk from the user’s computer and record the serial number into the call description.
  1. Staff are now required to log a job with DELL WEEE Service in order to dispose of all IT hardware
