The new University of Limerick Office 365 environment was enabled in October 2019. The project team are now working to migrate all staff email accounts to this new environment. This will allow for enhanced security features to be enabled on user accounts at a later date while also facilitating the retirement of legacy IT infrastructure and software. Users will be scheduled for migration over the next few weeks, the exact dates and post migration instructions will be communicated to individual users in advance.

Emails older than 14 days will be purged automatically from the Deleted Items Folder in the Microsoft 365 environment. Please ensure you are not using this folder for email storage. ITD recommend that you delete all emails from the Delete Items folder in advance of the migration.

During migration:
Users can continue to use email on their laptop, desktop or mobile device as normal.

Users of the Outlook client on a Windows or Mac device will receive a screen notification to restart their Outlook client and may also be asked to enter their username and password. Please ensure that you are not using your Deleted Items folder for email storage as emails older than 14 days will be purged automatically.
Users accessing email on a mobile device will need to remove their email account from the App and recreate the account. See attached guide
