Personal Public Service (PPS) Number

Your Personal Public Service Number (PPS Number) is a unique reference number that helps you access social welfare benefits, public services and information in Ireland. State agencies that use PPS Numbers to identify individuals include the Department of Social Protection, the Revenue Commissioners and the Health Service Executive (HSE)

Pay As You Earn (P.A.Y.E./TAX)

Pay As You Earn (P.A.Y.E.) - This is the amount of tax payable by you to the Revenue. More information can be found on the Revenue website

Pay Related Social Insurance (P.R.S.I.)

The PRSI contribution, normally payable by employer and employee, is a percentage of the employee's reckonable earnings. Please look at Social Welfare Website more information
From 1st January 2024 please see PRSI Class A document with information for those aged 66 from Social Protection Department.

Universal Social Charge (U.S.C.)

This is the amount of U.S.C. payable by you to the Revenue. Please see  Revenue Website for more information.

Additional Superannuation Contribution (ASC) replaces PRD

This is a levy applied to all public sector employees who have an entitlement to an occupational public sector pension. ASC Deductions are not pension contributions.
