Current Activities

A study of biodiversity in forested landscapes.

This collaborative work is being conducted in cooperation with scientists from University College Cork, integrating projects on bird diversity, invertebrate diversity, (with particular emphasis on Araneae and Carabidae) and GIS.

My work focuses on integrating the data from field studies with spatially-explicit models of important biophysical parameters, from local level to landscape scales. These data shall be then analysed to produce recommendations for afforestation practices that enhance biodiversity.
